Hello Cubs Fans
Welcome to The Goat Is Gone. My name is Calvin Harris and I am a retired law enforcement officer from Mechanicsville, Virginia. I know you must be wondering, how does a guy from Virginia become such a big Chicago Cubs fan.
That’s easy, as far back as I can remember I have followed the Cubs. I remember watching the games from Wrigley Field on television as a young boy and wondering, will I ever go there to see a game?
Well, that dream came true on July 22, 2002. I was 42 years old and finally saw a Cubs game live at Wrigley Field. Honestly, that was one of my best memories.
Express My Passion For Chicago Cubs Baseball
I want The Goat Is Gone to be a site where I can write about anything that involves the Chicago Cubs. For example, the history of the logo, the history of the goat ( which is gone now by the way ), Wrigley Field, and anything and everything about Cubs players over the years.
Of course, when the Cubs finally won the World Series in 2016 my life long desire to see that happen became reality. So many Cubs fans did not live long enough to see it. I hope readers will be able to feel my passion for the game of baseball and the Chicago Cubs.
The Goat Is Gone – A Site For Cubs Fans
The curse of the billy goat put a cloud over the Chicago Cubs and their fans for 71 years. Then, in 2016 the curse was lifted with a world series championship. Hence, the title of my site.
Whether you are just curious to learn more about the Chicago Cubs or an avid fan like myself, I want everyone to get the information they are searching for when entering my site. By using a blog format my hope is that readers will feel free to leave comments and start conversations with me and other readers.
Thanks for reading my About Calvin page and I look forward to engaging in many conversations with other Cubs fans.
If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.
All the best,
